First connections to TxD

I'm a begginer at all all this, so I begun reading the Knowledge Base, FAQs, forums, manuals and other docs... (a lot of reading, actually :-)

I like read docs, sure... But, I like much more to practice a little with my new toy... :-)

So, the first is to connect to your account at TxD. There's a lot of possibilities:
  • Webmin
  • Usermin
  • SFTP (Secure FTP)
  • Shell Access
  • ...

The two first admin tools are web-based, and are located at https://webmin.server.textdrive.com and https://usermin.server.textdrive.com.

Secure FTP (SFTP) is similar to the old-well-know (and insecure) FTP but uses SSH encryption to securely transmit data. A good client for SFTP is Filezilla.

And finally, Shell Access can be accomplished with PuTTY, a free SSH, Telnet and Rlogin client for Windows.

With this two last clients we should point to server.textdrive.com to connect.

I found a little slower all of this connections to TxD. Maybe the encryption layer, I don't know... I'll be watching it.

PD: As you can see, currently my operating system is Win. However I hope that I can get time to switch early to any *nix SO (GNU/Linux, *BSD, ...)

That's it!
